Our young farmers recently achieved an incredible milestone by harvesting fish they have been growing as part of the school’s innovative fishing project.
The fishing project was carried out by P5 and P6 as part of the school’s hands-on approach to education, allowing our learners to gain practical knowledge about fish farming. The difference types of fishlike catfish were among the fish raised in the pond.
Under the guidance of their science teachers, the children were actively involved in every step of the process, from setting up fishponds to feeding and monitoring the fish as they grew.
After 9 months, Learners finally got to experience the joy of harvesting their fish totaling to 500. The excitement was evident as they worked together to carefully scoop out the fish, measure their sizes, and discuss what they had learned throughout the project.
MST Junior School plans to continue and expand the project, ensuring that more learners get the opportunity to participate in this unique, hands-on learning experience.
